Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 to modify the standard for denying pretrial release in stalking and aggravated stalking cases.

Changes the criteria from requiring that "denial of release is necessary to prevent fulfillment of the threat upon which the charge is based" to requiring that "the defendant's pretrial release poses a real and present threat to the safety of a victim of the alleged offense, based on the specific articulable facts of the case."

Aligns the stalking/aggravated stalking pretrial release denial standard with the language already used for other offenses like domestic battery, order of protection violations, and forcible felonies.

Requires the State to file a verified petition and the court to hold a hearing before denying pretrial release.
