IL HB5021

Amends the Illinois Ginseng Harvesting Act to authorize seizure and forfeiture of any devices, equipment, vehicles, or conveyances used or attempted to be used in violation of the Act, with proceeds from sales deposited into the Wildlife and Fish Fund.

Requires holders of harvest, grower's, or dealer licenses to immediately produce their license when requested by Department of Natural Resources employees, sheriffs, deputy sheriffs, or other peace officers.

Expands prohibitions to include attempted violations of harvest licensing requirements and trespass provisions for harvesting ginseng.

Removes the previous 5-year maximum cap on license suspensions, allowing the Department to set suspension periods through administrative rules for violations of the Act or related federal ginseng laws.

Adds the Ginseng Harvesting Act to the list of laws covered by the Seizure and Forfeiture Reporting Act, requiring standardized reporting of seized and forfeited property.
