IL HB5024

Prohibits detention center facilities from being located, constructed, or operated within 1,500 feet of schools, day care centers, cemeteries, public parks, forest preserves, public housing, private residences, or places of religious worship

Defines "detention center facility" as any facility owned, leased, or operated by federal immigration authorities for detaining individuals, processing deportations, or holding people while determining citizenship status

Covers facilities controlled by ICE, Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security, or any entity contracted to perform immigration enforcement activities

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code by adding Section 11-5-12

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
