Amends the Unified Code of Corrections (730 ILCS 5/3-12-5) to require that incarcerated persons performing work assignments receive wages at or above Illinois minimum wage

Currently, the Department of Corrections sets compensation rates based on effort, skill, and economic value of work performed; this bill adds a wage floor tied to state minimum wage law

Existing provisions remain unchanged, including that 50% of wages can be used to offset filing fees if an incarcerated person files a frivolous lawsuit
