Recomputation and adjustment provisions for school district claims for general State aid or evidence-based funding will end with Fiscal Year 2026, including the 6-year adjustment period following adverse court or administrative decisions affecting tax revenues.

Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, children from orphanages, foster homes, children's homes, or State residential units who are placed in separate public day schools for special education must attend schools that meet programmatic requirements and regulations for separate public day schools.

Illinois Teaching Excellence Program funds may now be used for indirect costs necessary for program operation.

National Board certified teachers in hard-to-staff schools (schools with at least 30% low-income students) will receive annual retention bonuses of up to $4,000 for 2 consecutive years, with funds distributed equally among all qualified educators rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
