Amends the Illinois School Code to expand food service contract preferences to include "local" suppliers in addition to the existing "State or regional" suppliers that source local food products.

School boards may bypass lowest-bidder requirements for food service contracts when making good faith efforts to prioritize local food sourcing.

The change allows school districts participating in USDA child nutrition programs more flexibility to contract with nearby local suppliers for food products.
