Declares February 7, 2025 as Wear Red Day in Illinois to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease in women

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women, claiming more lives than all forms of cancer combined, yet only 44% of women recognize it as their greatest health threat

Nearly 45% of females aged 20 and older live with some form of cardiovascular disease, and heart disease is the leading cause of maternal death in the U.S.

In 2020, strokes caused 90,627 female deaths (approximately 56.5% of total stroke deaths), and women represent only 38% of cardiovascular clinical research trial participants

Urges all Illinois residents to wear red and raise awareness in support of the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement, which has addressed cardiovascular care gaps since 2004
