Declares April 2025 as Assyrian American Heritage Month in Illinois

Recognizes Assyrian people as indigenous to Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran) who have faced systematic persecution, including the Assyrian Genocide of 1915 and the Semele Massacre of 1933

Notes Illinois is home to approximately 100,000 Assyrians, the largest concentration in the United States, out of nearly half a million nationwide

Celebrates Assyrian New Year 6775 (known as Akitu), observed on April 1 to mark spring and symbolize rebirth and renewal

Directs that a copy of the resolution be presented to the Assyrian American National Federation
