Congratulates Brian Keith Leonard Sr. on his retirement from Ameren Illinois after a 45-year career in the utility industry

Leonard earned a Bachelor of Science in Math and Physical Education from Eastern Illinois University in 1979, later completing the Ameren Illinois Fellows Program (2007) and McKinsey Black Leadership Academy (2020)

Career progression at Ameren Illinois included roles as meter reader-groundman, gas meter repairman, customer service representative, superintendent, lobbyist, and assistant regional manager of the Metro-East Region

Most recently served as senior director of Government and Community Relations (2018), overseeing relations with the Illinois General Assembly, constitutional officers, and executive branch agencies

Currently serves on the board of the Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation and has served on boards of Quincy College and Heat Up St. Louis
