Memorial resolution honoring former Park Forest Village President Ronald "Ron" Bean, who passed away in November 2025

First Black village trustee and first Black village president of Park Forest, serving as president from 1981 to 1986 during the village's transition to one of the nation's first successfully integrated communities

Served as executive director of the Illinois Development Finance Authority for 15 years, overseeing billions in bond issuances for statewide economic development

Championed education as president of Southland College Preparatory Charter High School Board of Directors beginning in 2010, and served on Matteson School District 162 Board for more than 30 years

Survived by his wife Dr. Sharon G. Bean, five children, ten grandchildren, and three siblings; the Ronald Bean Community Service Scholarship at Governors State University was established in his honor in 2009
