Kevin Ryan served 32 years in the Connecticut House of Representatives representing the 139th legislative district, beginning in 1992, and held positions including co-chairman of the Labor and Public Employees Committee for eight years and assistant deputy speaker pro tempore

Held leadership roles in national legislative organizations including president and treasurer of the National Conference of Legislators from Gaming States and was recently elected national chair of the Council of State Governments

Earned degrees from Villanova University (BA in English, BS in Biology), a Doctorate in Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and a Master's in Community Psychology from University of New Haven

Active in community organizations including serving on the Montville Board of Education (chairman for six years), Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeastern Connecticut, Rotary International, Knights of Columbus, and as chair of the Nuclear Energy Advisory Council
