Recognizes medicolegal professionals including medical examiners, coroners, forensic pathologists, death investigators, forensic scientists, and support staff for their work at the intersection of medicine, law, and public safety

Acknowledges these professionals respond to death scenes, mass fatality incidents, public health emergencies, natural disasters, and acts of violence alongside other emergency responders

Notes that medicolegal professionals are not uniformly recognized as first responders despite exposure to hazardous environments, traumatic scenes, and biohazards
