Illinois House Resolution condemns any proposal, threat, or effort to invade, annex, or forcibly seize Greenland or any other territory of a U.S. treaty ally.

Resolution specifically criticizes statements by President Donald J. Trump advocating or entertaining the invasion or forcible acquisition of Greenland, characterizing them as a repudiation of America's commitments to allies.

Affirms support for NATO and the sovereignty of allied nations, noting Denmark is a founding NATO member and Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark with self-government and democratic rights.

Declares wars of aggression against allies would violate the United Nations Charter, to which the U.S. is a founding signatory, and would be morally indefensible and strategically catastrophic.

Directs copies be sent to the President, congressional leadership (Senate Majority and Minority Leaders, House Speaker and Minority Leader), and the NATO Secretary-General.
