Illinois House of Representatives congratulates Matt Tumbleson for his professional accomplishments and leadership in the National Basketball Association

Tumbleson grew up in Buda, Bureau County, attended Bureau Valley High School, and earned a B.S. in Public Relations and Political Science from Illinois State University

Career includes communications and media relations positions with the San Antonio Spurs, New Jersey Nets, and Memphis Grizzlies before joining the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2011

Currently serves as Vice President of Basketball Communications for the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he led communications efforts during the 2024-2025 season including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's 2025 MVP campaign

Maintains strong ties to Illinois through mentorship, internships, and support for Illinois State University's sports communications program
