Municipalities may publish legally required notices on their official website instead of in a newspaper, provided the notice is also posted on a searchable online database website with independent certification of publication

The searchable online database must be accessible to the public at least 98% of the time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and may be operated by a statewide organization of municipalities at no additional cost

Municipalities must provide free paper copies of notices to individuals who cannot access electronic publications, and notices must remain online until the required posting period expires or the noticed event occurs

Independent certification of electronic publication must include the notice title, exact date and time of publication, website address where notices can be accessed, and other relevant information

Repeals existing requirements that newspapers place legal notices on a statewide newspaper website, removing this obligation from the Notice By Publication Act and Newspaper Legal Notice Act
