Requires group and individual health insurance policies amended, delivered, issued, or renewed after January 1, 2027 to cover medically necessary hippotherapy services that incorporate equine movement as part of therapeutic intervention

Defines hippotherapy as the use of equine movement by licensed occupational therapists, physical therapists, or speech-language pathologists working with professional horse handlers and therapy horses to engage sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive systems for functional outcomes

Extends the hippotherapy coverage requirement to self-insured counties, municipalities, school districts, and the State Employees Group Insurance Program by adding Section 356z.80 to the list of required health benefits

Amends multiple Illinois statutes including the State Employees Group Insurance Act, Counties Code, Illinois Municipal Code, School Code, Illinois Insurance Code, and Health Maintenance Organization Act to incorporate the new coverage mandate

Department of Insurance retains enforcement authority over the requirements, with rulemaking subject to Illinois Administrative Procedure Act compliance
