Prohibits state legislators from engaging in compensated lobbying of municipal, county, or township governing bodies and officials, as well as the executive branch of Illinois state government

Expands existing restrictions on legislators, who are already prohibited from compensated lobbying of the General Assembly on behalf of private interests

Removes legislators from a provision that previously grouped them with executive branch constitutional officers regarding local government lobbying restrictions, creating a broader standalone prohibition for legislators

Maintains existing prohibitions on county, municipal, and township officials engaging in compensated lobbying on behalf of registered lobbyists or lobbying entities

Violations of these lobbying restrictions constitute a Class A misdemeanor

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
