Requires political advertisements that contain AI-generated images, audio, or video to include a clear and conspicuous disclosure statement indicating the content was generated in whole or substantially by artificial intelligence

Applies to paid advertisements relating to candidates for federal, state, or local office in Illinois, elections, or ballot questions, including search engine marketing, display ads, video ads, native ads, and mobile app advertisements

Specifies disclosure format requirements: graphic ads must display text matching the majority font size; audio ads require a spoken 3-second disclosure; video ads must show text for at least 4 seconds and include a 3-second spoken statement

Establishes civil penalties of up to $250 for first violations and up to $1,000 for each subsequent violation, with each distribution or airing of a non-compliant ad counting as a separate violation

Exempts bona fide news coverage, broadcasters paid to air ads, satire/parody content, FCC-regulated entities, and distribution platforms that maintain written policies requiring AI disclosure from advertisers
