Extends Monetary Award Program (MAP) grant eligibility for one additional academic year beyond the current cap (baccalaureate degree or 135 semester credit hours) for students who enroll in a State-approved educator preparation program

Applies to academic years 2026-2027 through 2030-2031

Recipients must obtain a Professional Educator License and teach in Illinois for a minimum of 3 years within 5 years of licensure to fulfill the grant requirements

Recipients who fail to meet the teaching obligation must repay the additional grant assistance to the Commission, prorated based on the fraction of the 3-year teaching requirement not completed

Amends the Higher Education Student Assistance Act (110 ILCS 947/35) and takes effect immediately upon becoming law
