IL SB0405

Amends the School Code to explicitly require that school counseling services in public schools address the needs of all students regardless of citizenship status

Adds new language emphasizing that counseling services must be provided to students irrespective of their immigration or citizenship status

Retains existing provisions allowing school counseling services to be provided by licensed school counselors or individuals with a Professional Educator License with school support personnel endorsement

Maintains the existing comprehensive list of school counseling services including academic support, college/career planning, mental health resources, crisis intervention, and social-emotional learning

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
