Creates the Chronic Absence Task Force within the State Board of Education to study chronic absenteeism and develop a statewide strategy for students in early childhood programs through grade 12

Task Force membership includes the State Superintendent of Education, Secretary of Early Childhood, and approximately 18 appointed members representing teachers' organizations, school administrators, principals, regional superintendents, school boards, charter schools, and advocates for homeless students and foster children

Task Force must identify strategies to help families, educators, and school officials address high chronic absence rates and recommend a coherent state strategy, reduction goals, policy changes, and evidence-based practices for creating multitiered support systems

Members serve without compensation, with the State Superintendent or designee serving as chairperson and the State Board of Education providing administrative support

Task Force must submit its report to the General Assembly and State Board of Education by December 15, 2027, and will be dissolved on January 31, 2028; the Act takes effect September 1, 2025
