Extends the deadline for school districts to initiate due process hearings challenging parent requests for independent educational evaluations from 5 days to 7 school days after the written parent request

Increases the timeframe for completing independent educational evaluations at public expense from 30 days to 60 school days following a parent's written request or a due process hearing decision

Removes references to "30-day" time periods throughout the statute, replacing calendar day requirements with school day requirements for independent educational evaluation processes

Amends Section 14-8.02 of the School Code governing identification, evaluation, and placement of children with disabilities in special education programs
