IL SB1392

Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to explicitly include dental insurance in the existing right of policyholders to assign their insurance claims and benefits to providers

Requires insurers, HMOs, dental service plan corporations, and third party administrators to pay claims directly to dental care providers and dental care facilities when an enrollee assigns their claim, including any interest owed for late payment (claims must be paid within 30 days)

Adds dental service plan corporations to the list of entities that must comply with Section 370a (assignability provisions) of the Illinois Insurance Code

Extends these assignment requirements to Health Maintenance Organizations, Limited Health Service Organizations, and Voluntary Health Services Plans by adding Section 370a to their required compliance provisions

Takes effect January 1, 2026
