Expands recognized dental specialties to include oral and maxillofacial pathology, dental public health, oral medicine, and orofacial pain, in addition to previously listed specialties like endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral radiology, and dental anesthesiology

Creates "license-pending" status allowing general dentist and dental hygienist applicants who have passed their licensure exams and submitted applications to practice under a licensed dentist's delegation for up to 6 months while awaiting license approval

Removes the January 1, 2026 sunset date on provisions allowing dental assistants to perform coronal scaling on patients 17 and under, making this expanded function permanent

Removes the January 1, 2026 sunset date on public health dental hygienist provisions, permanently allowing certified public health dental hygienists to provide preventive services to Medicaid-eligible and low-income patients under public health supervision agreements

Extends the timeframe for dental hygienists to implement dentist orders in state or federal prisons from 45 days to 180 days
