IL SB1612

Raises the competitive bidding threshold for supplies and materials contracts from $30,000 to $60,000 for conservation districts, downstate forest preserve districts, and park districts

Maintains the existing $30,000 threshold for work/labor contracts, creating separate thresholds for supplies/materials versus work

Allows district boards to set lower bidding thresholds through board policy for any contract type

Contracts below the applicable thresholds may be let without advertising for bids, though districts should obtain at least 3 competitive bids when practicable

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
