Allows defendants who successfully complete the First Time Weapon Offense Program to apply for a Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID) by obtaining a court order demonstrating program completion

Creates a new diversion program option (Section 5-6-3.7) where State's Attorneys may request defendants charged with unlawful possession of weapons (Class 4 felony or lower) be sentenced to an appropriate diversion program

Defendants who complete any qualifying weapons offense diversion program may apply for a FOID card if they receive a court order confirming completion and are otherwise eligible

Illinois State Police must issue FOID cards to eligible program completers but retains authority to deny or revoke cards as otherwise provided by law

Applies to unlawful possession of weapons offenses under Section 24-1 and aggravated unlawful possession under Section 24-1.6 of the Criminal Code of 2012
