Certified nurse midwives with full practice authority can now serve as collaborators for other advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) under written collaborative agreements, expanding beyond the previous requirement of physician collaboration only

APRNs certified as nurse midwives seeking full practice authority must complete their required 4,000 hours of clinical experience in collaboration with a certified nurse midwife who already has full practice authority, rather than with a physician

Nurse midwives with full practice authority gain the ability to delegate prescriptive authority to collaborating APRNs, including Schedule II through V controlled substances, under the same conditions previously limited to physicians

The bill adds "certified nurse midwife with full practice authority" throughout the Nurse Practice Act as an authorized collaborating provider alongside physicians, dentists, and podiatric physicians for purposes of written collaborative agreements
