Requires entities that contract with the Department of Children and Family Services, Department of Early Childhood, child care facilities, or non-licensed service providers to conduct criminal background investigations on employees placed in child care facilities

Mandates fingerprint submission to Illinois State Police, which will check prints against state and FBI criminal history databases and charge a fee not exceeding the actual cost of the records check

Conviction information, including sources and recommendations, must be provided upon request to the contracting entity and the employee before final action is taken on the application

Criminal charge information obtained by DCFS or Department of Early Childhood is confidential and may only be shared internally for evaluating whether an employee should be permitted in a child care facility

Unauthorized disclosure of confidential criminal conviction information by employees of DCFS, Department of Early Childhood, Illinois State Police, or child care facilities is punishable as a Class A misdemeanor
