Prohibits individual and group health insurance plans from imposing prior authorization requirements on outpatient services for the prevention, screening, diagnosis, or treatment of mental, emotional, nervous, or substance use disorders or conditions

Amends Section 370c of the Illinois Insurance Code, which governs mental and emotional disorder coverage requirements

Applies to health benefit plans amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after the effective date of the legislation

Adds to existing protections that already prohibit prior authorization for FDA-approved substance use disorder medications and step therapy requirements for such treatments
