State Board of Education must develop and distribute an educational document on indoor air quality values to all school districts within one year of appropriation, in consultation with the Department of Public Health

School districts must ensure all non-mechanically ventilated active classrooms have at least 2 functioning windows (or 1 where only 1 exists) that can open and stay open safely, with a 2-year compliance deadline after funding is received

All active classrooms must be equipped with dedicated air quality monitors/sensors and in-room air cleaners that cannot be shared between classrooms; schools must record and maintain for 5 years all incidents where recommended parts-per-million levels are exceeded

Each school must receive 5 additional air cleaners and 5 additional air quality monitors for use in health offices, libraries, cafeterias, and similar spaces

Regional offices of education (or State Board for Chicago schools) must conduct ventilation verification assessments of all mechanical ventilation systems to ensure compliance with design parameters and building codes; all requirements are contingent on state appropriations
