IL SB2240

Amends the Illinois Election Code to require voter registration applicants to provide valid and unexpired identification documents, removing employee ID cards, student ID cards, and credit cards from the list of acceptable forms of identification

Adds U.S. passports and any government-issued identification containing the applicant's residential address to the list of acceptable ID documents for voter registration

Requires voter registration affidavits to include three new sworn statements: that the applicant regards the registration location as their home, has no intention of returning to a former residence after the election, and has no other home to return to in case of sickness or other affliction

Applies these new residency affirmation requirements across multiple sections of the Election Code governing registration in different types of jurisdictions (counties, municipalities, and areas with election commissions)
