Requires health facilities, clinics, physician offices, and group practices using generative AI for patient communications about clinical information to include a disclaimer indicating the communication was AI-generated

Mandates disclaimers be displayed prominently: at the beginning of written communications, throughout chat-based telehealth interactions, verbally at the start and end of audio communications, and throughout video communications

Requires clear instructions on how patients can contact a human health care provider or appropriate staff member

Exempts AI-generated communications that have been read and reviewed by a licensed or certified human health care provider from the disclosure requirements

Violations by licensed health facilities or clinics are subject to penalties established by the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; violations by physicians are subject to penalties determined by the Illinois State Medical Board
