IL SB2422

Amends the Wildlife Code to provide free deer, turkey, and combination hunting permits to Illinois resident landowners and tenants who own or rent at least 40 acres and wish to hunt only on that land

Expands eligibility for free permits to include bona fide current income beneficiaries of trusts that own Illinois land, in addition to existing categories of equity shareholders, LLC members, and partners

Defines "tenant" as a person renting 40+ acres for commercial agricultural purposes under a written notarized agreement with the landowner

Requires the Department of Natural Resources to set the total number of permits that may be issued to any person through administrative rule

Mandates that hunters using these permits must carry the permit and documentation proving their landowner, beneficiary, shareholder, member, partner, or tenant status at all times while hunting
