IL SB2703

Amends the Child Labor Law of 2024 to create a new exemption allowing parents or legal guardians to employ their minor children at family-owned businesses

The exemption applies only when the parent or legal guardian owns at least 51% of the business and the business has no more than 50 employees

Minor children may only work outside of school hours under this exemption

Adds this family business exemption to existing exemptions in the law, which already include agricultural work, newspaper/magazine sales, household chores, babysitting, golf caddying, school work-based learning programs, and youth sports officiating
