Amends the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986 to add a new requirement for law enforcement officers responding to domestic violence calls

Requires officers to complete an intimate partner violence risk and lethality assessment instrument when they have reasonable belief that a person has been abused, neglected, or exploited by a family or household member

Adds this assessment requirement to the existing list of duties officers must perform, which already includes arresting the abuser when appropriate, seizing weapons used in the incident, accompanying victims to retrieve belongings, and providing information about available resources

The bill applies to both the current version of Section 304 and the version as amended by P.A. 104-290 (effective November 13, 2025), which added provisions allowing officers to divert juvenile offenders rather than arrest them
