IL SB2837

Expands the definition of "trained personnel" to include athletic coaches and athletic trainers for purposes of administering asthma medication, epinephrine injectors, and opioid antagonists in schools.

Allows students with asthma to self-administer and self-carry their asthma medication at school-sponsored athletic practices and games.

Authorizes school nurses or trained personnel to administer undesignated asthma medication to any person experiencing respiratory distress at school-sponsored athletic practices or games.

Requires schools to maintain a supply of asthma medication in a secure location accessible before, during, and after school where physical activity poses the greatest risk.

Mandates that at least one member of each athletic coach's staff and all athletic trainers complete training curriculum on administering undesignated asthma medication.
