IL SB2865

Amends the Probation and Probation Officers Act to require the Division of Probation Services to reimburse counties 100% of salaries for probation officer and supervisor positions approved for pretrial services programs and specialty court programs.

Establishes a phased transition beginning July 1, 2027, where 20% of probation officer positions receiving partial reimbursement ($1,000/month) will be upgraded to 100% salary reimbursement annually, based on the total statewide count as of July 1, 2023.

The 20% annual transfers continue each subsequent July 1 until all positions currently receiving partial reimbursement are converted to full salary reimbursement.

Removes the previous requirement for 100% reimbursement of travel expenses for probation positions approved under paragraph (b).
