IL SB2896

Requires municipalities to obtain unanimous consent from both the Big Island River Conservancy District board of trustees and the joint review board before creating or expanding any Tax Increment Financing (TIF) redevelopment project area within the Conservancy District's boundaries.

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/11-74.4-3) and the River Conservancy Districts Act (70 ILCS 2105/11.5) to establish these new consent requirements.

Applies to all redevelopment project areas and any amendments adding additional areas to existing TIF districts on and after the effective date.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
