Public school districts must provide age-appropriate active-transportation safety training to students in kindergarten through grade 8, covering bicycling, pedestrian activities, and other nonmotorized transportation

Students in grades K-3 must receive training focused on pedestrian safety, including crossing roads safely

Students in grades 4-8 must receive expanded training covering pedestrian safety techniques (look left-right-left), bicycle safety including traffic laws and helmet fit, and e-bike safety including the prohibition on operation by those under 16

Nonpublic schools may voluntarily provide the same active-transportation safety training to their K-8 students

The Secretary of Transportation must maintain a comprehensive collection of training materials, and schools must make reasonable accommodations for English language learners and students with disabilities
