State and local publicly funded ISO 17025 accredited forensic laboratories must report complaints alleging significant non-conformity with forensic science practices to the Illinois Forensic Science Commission within 30 days of becoming aware of the issue.

Complaint reports must include the nature and extent of the alleged non-conformity or deficient method and whether corrective actions have been or will be implemented.

Annual reports from forensic laboratories summarizing significant non-conformities must now include all complaints reported under the new 30-day reporting requirement.

Affected laboratories specifically include the DuPage County Forensic Science Center, Northeastern Illinois Regional Crime Laboratory, and Illinois State Police forensic laboratory systems.
