State Board of Education's annual list of cultural, religious, and other observance dates must include a statement encouraging schools to avoid scheduling significant academic deadlines or major school events on those dates when possible

District superintendents must distribute information about upcoming cultural, religious, and other observance dates to all faculty and staff, and these dates must be posted on official school and administrative calendars

Students absent for religious reasons involving lunar or other nonfixed calendars may provide notice as soon as reasonably possible rather than the standard 5 days in advance when exact dates cannot be determined earlier

Students excused for religious absences must be granted reasonable academic accommodations without penalty
