IL SB3076

Expands the Public Employee Disability Act to include part-time and full-time county correctional officers and all other county sheriff employees as eligible for disability benefits.

Requires employing public entities to continue providing health insurance benefits to injured employees and their eligible dependents on the same terms as before the injury, including no increase in premium contribution rates.

Eligible employees who suffer line-of-duty injuries or illnesses continue receiving full pay for up to one year with no deduction from sick leave, vacation, compensatory time, or pension service credits.

Extends illness disability benefits (for declared disaster/emergency-related illnesses) to county correctional officers and county sheriff employees in addition to existing coverage for law enforcement and firefighters.

Does not apply to home rule units with populations over 1,000,000 (Chicago).
