Removes public transportation from the list of prohibited areas for concealed carry license holders under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act.

Currently, licensees cannot carry firearms on buses, trains, or any transportation paid for with public funds, nor in buildings or parking areas controlled by public transit facilities.

The amendment would allow concealed carry permit holders to carry firearms on all publicly-funded transportation and at transit facilities throughout Illinois.

Introduced by Sen. Neil Anderson on February 2, 2026, with an immediate effective date upon becoming law.
