IL SB3295

Requires health insurance policies covering durable medical equipment prescribed by physicians to provide equal coverage when the same equipment is prescribed by other licensed health care practitioners who lawfully prescribe or use such equipment for patient treatment.

Applies to individual and group accident and health insurance policies and managed care plans amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2027.

Extends this coverage requirement to multiple public employee health programs including state employees, counties, municipalities, and school districts through amendments to the State Employees Group Insurance Act, Counties Code, Illinois Municipal Code, and School Code.

Amends the Health Maintenance Organization Act, Limited Health Service Organization Act, Voluntary Health Services Plans Act, and Illinois Public Aid Code to establish the same equal coverage requirement.

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law.
