Hospitals licensed in Illinois cannot charge covered employees more than 10% of total health insurance premium costs for medical, dental, or vision coverage

Applies to "large hospitals" with net patient revenue of at least $1 billion per year, or those part of a health system meeting that threshold

Covered employees include nurses, physicians, caregivers, medical residents, patient care technicians, janitors, food service workers, clerical staff, and contracted/subcontracted workers providing healthcare or support services on hospital premises

Any agreement allowing charges exceeding 10% of premium costs is automatically invalid, void, and unenforceable

Violations carry a $500 civil penalty per impacted employee, payable to the Department of Public Health
