IL SB3471

Expands eligibility for appointed property tax board of review members from residents of that specific county to citizens of any Illinois county with fewer than 3,000,000 inhabitants

Applies to counties under township organization with less than 3,000,000 inhabitants that do not have elected boards of review

Removes the special provision that previously allowed only Lake, DuPage, McHenry, and Kane Counties to appoint residents from adjacent counties during emergency board expansions

Board of review members must still be qualified by experience and training in property appraisal and property tax administration

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
