Illinois resident landowners with at least 40 acres and resident tenants of 40+ acres of commercial agricultural land would receive free deer and turkey hunting permits to hunt on their own property.

Each eligible landowner or tenant may receive up to one either-sex deer permit and one antlerless-only deer permit for both firearm and archery seasons.

Reduced acreage requirements (20 acres minimum) apply in counties where the Department of Natural Resources has identified chronic wasting disease in the deer herd.

Eligibility extends to bona fide trust income beneficiaries, corporate shareholders, LLC members, and partnership partners who own qualifying Illinois land through those entities.

Guest permits (one either-sex and one antlerless-only) may be issued for every 240 acres owned, with a maximum of 5 guests regardless of total acreage, and guests must pay applicable fees including non-resident fees if applicable.
