Amends the Illinois Nurse Practice Act to require registered professional nurses to obtain written, informed consent before using artificial intelligence to record, transcribe, summarize, or analyze clinical encounters for direct patient care.

Prohibits AI from being substituted for nursing services, including comprehensive nursing assessments, nursing diagnoses, care plan development, and clinical judgment, and bars staffing, triage, admission, discharge, or transfer decisions that rely solely on AI.

Requires AI used in clinical settings to function only as clinical decision support under the control of a registered professional nurse, who must be able to review data inputs and key factors behind any AI recommendation.

Mandates that health care entities employing registered nurses and deploying AI in direct patient care maintain validation and bias monitoring records, provide nurses with training on AI systems' intended use and known failure modes, and make records available to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation upon request.

Adds violations of the AI provisions as grounds for disciplinary action against registered professional nurses and authorizes the Department to investigate health care entities for noncompliance.
