IL SB3850

Creates the Illinois Educational Choice for Children Act to enable state participation in the federal school choice program under the federal Educational Choice for Children Act.

Requires the Governor to submit annually to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury a list of scholarship granting organizations to opt-in to the federal program, with the first submission due by January 1, 2027.

Allows the Governor to develop the list of scholarship granting organizations in consultation with other appropriate State agencies.

Mandates compliance with Section 25F of the Internal Revenue Code for all submissions.

Requires the Governor to send copies of the scholarship granting organization list to the General Assembly, State Board of Education, and Department of Revenue.
