Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act (35 ILCS 5/201) to make the state's research and development tax credit permanent, removing any existing expiration date.

Introduced on February 6, 2026 by Senator Donald P. DeWitte during the 104th General Assembly.

The bill takes effect immediately upon becoming law.

Currently, the R&D credit operates on a temporary basis requiring periodic legislative renewal; this change would eliminate that requirement.
